It's pretty good, a supernatural romance for my demographic, but still intelligent. It's Twilight without the hormones. :D As in, the plot takes precedence over the romance in the book. It's a good read and pretty interesting, and it has a rich setting and colorful characters.

Anyway, the contest is here and I get an extra entry if I plug it here on my blog! :D

Soooo, go check it out!

(although don't really because then I have more of a chance of winning yay)

Hey again

Ooooh.

Not been very good about posting, have I?

Yeah. Rambling time!:

As of right now, it's 11:07 PM on a Friday night and I'm a bit tired though not as much as I could be.

Online friends-wise (mostly for my own reference, I guess, unless you are/know one of the people on here), Tenkan's not been visiting RS Net much lately. For the past two weeks or so, though, we've been corresponding via Youtube messages, so we're still in touch. Over at LiveJournal, I've made several good friends, like SMBShaneomaniac and Jamie55 and more, so that's mostly where I've been updating on my life, since Cassandra's on Twitter. I haven't been to RS Net a lot. Twila and I don't talk much... Jim and I do private message each other there though.

Real-life-events-wise, my wrist's been inexplicably hurting the past week-ish. Hoping that'll end soon; it's in a Walmart-bought brace right now. I'm on this wheat-free-diet for a long and complicated reason I don't completely understand, but I've been allowed to cheat once every two weeks or more often, so I guess that's okay--I have a certain kind of bread I can have, so I still have daily sandwiches. School's only got six more full days (next Monday, the 25th or so, we have off for Memorial Day, I think), plus three half-days of finals. I had to run a mile in PE today, which I really didn't like. What else? Oh, yes, I'm going to Florida for two weeks next month! :D I have a really good friend who lives down there and who flies up to visit once a year, and this time I'm repaying the favor. Cheap plane tickets for the win! I can't wait to see her, and it sounds like there's a lot of fun ocean- and Disney-related stuff down there!

I just finished writing Going Against the Grain this week and I'm going to post the last chapter around Monday, maybe sometime this weekend. I'm excited! But I don't know what to write next... It really only works when the inspiration strikes. It's somewhere around 24,300 words (including disclaimers and author's notes), which is by far the longest story I've ever written. In fact, it's almost twice as long as I Think Some Serious Physics Just Happened. I'm hopefully improving! ^^

Oh, also, I've been watching How I Met Your Mother on TV after seeing almost the entire archive of episodes during spring break. So yeah. Neil Patrick Harris is officially my favorite actor?

As for my relationship with God, it's been less steady lately. I really need to spend more time reading the Bible. :-[

I guess that's mainly it, for the most part. (There went almost 20 minutes of my time! Who knew?)

So, woo!

--Donne

Dr. Who/Horrible

So my friend, Tenkan, has been trying to get me to watch Dr. Who for a little while now. It was on last night, and my mom (who was watching with me) is a fan, so I watched it. After some research online I conducted today, I found the episode was called "Love and Monsters." The ending was pretty creepy, yeah. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

But the thing is... the main character of that episode (not one of the recurring characters like the Doctor or Rose or something, I guess), Elton, looked remarkably like Billy, of Dr. Horrible fame.

I kid you not.

So, for more of my reference than for any readers' (yeah, plural... I'm hoping), I'm going to post some picture links cross-examining them:

http://ashley.tacular.net/copperminefolder/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=277

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=68

--

http://fray101.fotki.com/screencaps/dr-horrible/act1/kmp-dvd0450.html

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=67

--

http://fray101.fotki.com/screencaps/dr-horrible/act2/kmp-dvd0851.html

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=64

--

http://ashley.tacular.net/copperminefolder/displayimage.php?album=9&pos=242

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=322

--

http://ashley.tacular.net/copperminefolder/displayimage.php?album=11&pos=662

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=648

--

http://fray101.fotki.com/screencaps/dr-horrible/act3/kmp-dvd1964.html

VS

http://doctorwho.sonicbiro.co.uk/gallery/displayimage.php?album=50&pos=111

Spoilers if you care about them:
So, video blog for Elton and Billy.
By the time Elton got to the laundromat, I was pretty much squeeing at the coincidence.
Not to mention when he got his girlfriend, you know, dead in the second-to-last set. SAME LOOK on his face. (Fortunately he got her back... in a really creepy way. She told me about this-- an original story with chapters written by different people. I'm going to contribute, so that might be what you see on here soon-ish. ;)

Hopefully, it'll help to be writing again. Trying to work on "Going Against the Grain" over spring break, but it's going pretty slowly; Captain Hammer's hard to write for. Yesterday was pretty much spent at the computer, being comatose. :P Fortunately, today was different-- I woke up at 8:30 and read in bed (the book Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks; I'd recommend it) until about 10. Got up/dressed/ready for the day. Then I left with my mom for breakfast, coffee, library, etc. Saw Ally (as said above), then got home at 3:30-ish. On the computer for the first time today. :)

Just accidentally posted it in PenPlots, actually. ^^; Gonna have to get used to being able to post in two different places. Prepare for many mistakes and mix-ups on my part.

Yee-ah...

Sorry I haven't been posting lately, story or otherwise! Livejournal and Twitter have just about blogged me out, but have no fear! I'll still post here! As I said on LJ:

Ugh, I am so sorry, everyone, that I haven't posted anything in weeks! The reason? Well, some of you may know that I'm in a play, The Hobbit, and it's been taking up anywhere from 2-4 hours of my day. Factor in school time, eating, sleep, chores, and friends, and my writing time is pretty much dried up. . . . Fortunately, the play "premieres" this Friday and goes for only a couple of days, so I'll probably be back, bored and writing, in a week or so! :D Until then, please forgive my slowness...

So that's about it for now, except that I just got two new shirts that look awesome! :D And that my evil laugh has been slipping of late. :( Practice, I must...
...Anyway. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I haven't forgotten my blog! Incidentally, if you're wondering how I'm doing at a certain time, click on the link on the right to my Twitter, or just click this text. I've gotten past 300 less-than-141-character updates, and I do update pretty regularly, so check it out if you like! ^^

A good-bye is just a greeting warped back in time!

--Donne

Villain/Hero generator

Dark-Hearted-Rose did one of these at http://www.cpbintegrated.com/theherofactory/. Well, sort of.

Just wanted to write that Going Against the Grain, my Horrible and Tie Die fanfiction, is now spanning 22 1/2 pages on Microsoft Word and, if its measurements are correct, is 11,761 words long. Since it's not going to be done for a while, I would bet money that it'll be longer than my longest fic (or story, for that matter), which was 12, 457 words long-- plus the text of 12 disclaimers and some author's notes.

8-)

My first "official," original story, three years ago, was under 2000 words long. My first chaptered fanfic, last year, was almost 9000 words long. Someday I hope to be able to write a novel or something-- they're, what, 100,000 or more words?-- so I'm glad to see that I'm building up to that and improving. :D Of course I'm not making the quality suffer, either.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://donteatacowman.blogspot.com/2009/02/news-flash-self-ego-swelling-ahoy.html' title='News Flash! Not meanly, just messing around and being a guy.

Sweet guy talked to me for a minute (that's all we had) in the hallway. Asked each other's grade (that is, class level, like 9th or 10th or whatever) and found out we were the same, just we have no classes together. Smiled and said I hoped to see him soon.

Good day today, mostly, because it started well. Going full-swing after missing a week so I'm playing catch-up, plus I'll be at school from 7:40 AM-8:15 PM tomorrow, working the whole time, so :P.

Sorry about my mood swings lately, just my time of the month. Maybe I shouldn't have done the Chick rant. Just felt sarcastic and I let off some steam in the comic's direction. Maybe I should delete it....

Hoping to hide a valentine in the sweet guy's locker on Friday. Nothing over-the-top, just a hi-happy-Valentine's-Day thing. :)

Had play practice from 6:30-8:30 tonight and 4 hours tomorrow, which is why I'll be staying late and probably why I'm so tired. Answers

I just...

It could be that I'm PMS-ing, but...

I like answering questions on there. It's really fun. But lately, well...

For example, I answered a question that said "In college or older and still can't spell a lot correctly? [the title] I just can't get over the fact that most people still spell a lot incorrectly. I learned in probably first or second grade how to spell it and never forgot. I mean there are professors that still spell it ALOT and I just want to scream at them and say it is two words not one. How hard is it really? Even newspapers spell it wrong sometimes. I guess it is just a pet peeve of mine. I can't handle it. I get so mad because it is not that difficult."

I read this as the phrase "a lot" rather than meaning "people cannot spell many things correctly." Apparently, the person meant the latter and awarded me the best answer because, in their own words, "you can't read. I miss spelled it on purpose. If you had read it you would see that I was making a point."

Of course, they now have also misspelled "misspelled," but I didn't point that out. :P

On another question, "What are you? describe yourself . plz descibe ur self !!!" I replied jokingly, "I am a person with a crippling phobia of revealing personal information online.

Oh my goodness! *calls her phobia hotline* GAHHH!"

I added a clarification that no, I was not actually phobic, because there are many that would take me seriously. *rolls eyes* I wasn't expecting to get the Best Answer, but I did, with a rating of only one star and the comment "it funni nd your pic iz even funnier den the whole entire joke," which, translated, I took to mean "That's funny, and your picture is even funnier than the entire joke." This is my picture:

I think it looks like me and is actually flattering.

I know I shouldn't care about rude strangers' opinions of me, but...

...

This is the third time I've cried today.

"People who need people are the happiest people," my foot.

I just got some espresso-flavored dark chocolate, and that seems to help. What about the last
panel in which he claimed to be equal to Jesus?

...And if the guy on the cloud isn't Jesus, who do they think he is?

Just look at the guy running into the cracker and tell me you
wouldn't look like Anthony does not if you had to eat it.

On a more serious note, I also do not believe in transubstantiation,
or the idea that the wafer literally becomes Jesus' flesh. However,
communion, or the breaking of bread among believers in
remembrance of Christ's death, is outlined in the Bible:
"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing
it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, <woj style="font-style: italic;">'Take, eat; this is
my body.'</woj> And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he
gave it to them, saying, <woj style="font-style: italic;">'Drink of it, all of you,</woj> <woj style="font-style: italic;">for this is my blood
of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness
of sins.</woj> <woj>I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until
that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.'"
(Matthew 26:26-29, English Standard Version)</woj>
I guess the main difference is that we take it figuratively while
Catholics take it literally. :|

Why are all the priests always so grumpy and evil-looking?

Pardon me for my ignorance, but what about "That fire will be
more grievous than anything a man is capable of bearing in this
life" implies that the speaker will be going there? Some context
would be nice.

...Jesus will destroy the Vatican? Is that in the Bible?

I pray that nobody was so influenced by my snarking to
disbelieve Christ. I kind of wanted to reaffirm my own beliefs
here. If you're interested, please contact a pastor in your area,
or me!

...Try Bible.com for a free online Bible. It's a little closer to the
source than these tracts, I assure you. :|

Now I shall take the time to state my own beliefs about Catholics
from what I know. Feel free to disagree, and maybe even talk
about it with me.

I think some Catholics are people relying on good works to get to
Heaven, as Chick claims. However, some so-called "Christians"
are the same; they are not truly Christians if they just pretend to
be. And I also believe that some Catholics are Christians with some
practices with which I do not agree, and I'm sure people have
debated over that a lot. I don't have any Catholics here, though,
so I guess the point of this was not to start a debate but to inflict
my mood swings on Chick.

Sorry, Jack Chick. Sorry, any offended. And thank you for reading.

Also, wonky formatting, so sorry for any weird line breaks and
small images. :P

The 411

Ooh. Eegh. I really haven't updated on here much at all lately, have I?

I guess I can give the down-low. For the past week or so I've had a head cold or something, which has given me time to read Stephenie Meyer's horror/sci-fi/whatever/non-Twilight book The Host. Some parts of it were creepy, but some were beautiful and it had a happy ending. A part I liked, a chunk I didn't, but we can't have everything now, can we? New Moon finally came in at the library, and now that I've actually read the rest of the Twilight series, I'm rereading it so I can understand it. And before everyone grabs their pitchforks and hunts me down, I'll say it: It's true; I do like Twilight. I'm not a fanatic, I don't have a crush on Edward, I'm not in love with Jacob, and I realize that, in real life, some aspects of the relationship could be viewed as unhealthy. As my mom commented, it's not abusive because it's reciprocated in both ways. Yet Bella and Edward's relationship remains complete and utter fiction.

But anyway, since I've been sick, I've missed my play practices (did I mention that I'm in a corny-comedy version of The Hobbit?) and some assignments, although I'm half-caught-up. Also, I've been writing more fanfiction more regularly lately. Specifically, my Dr. Horrible fanfiction "Going Against the Grain." Unfortunately, Billy there needs a spectacular plan, and with my brain fizzed out, I'm not providing it. You could call it Writer's Block, although it's more like a brick wall: once I'm over, it's clear sailing.
Hm. Blocks, brick walls, going over something, and sailing. I need to work on my metaphors.

As for the infamous "Freddy," well, there's nothing to report but nothing. I don't know whether I should be upset or relieved, but he finally seems to have lost interest in me. I don't have a crush on him, but still, it'd be nice to know if I look horrible or something now.
Heh, Horrible. I seem to be attracted to fandoms that require disclaimers for a lot of words that invoke lazy puns. Horrible, Moist, Impossible, Possible, Unstoppable, Stoppable, Will Do, She Goes... and those are just the ones from Horrible and Kim Possible.

Speaking of guys, I have had weird stuff happening in my head lately.
So what else is new?
I mean hormoney stuff. Like I want a boyfriend. Weird, right? And I mean with all his clothes on, but for kissing and hugging and stuff.
Bleah.
So there are two guys right now whom I see everyday-ish, both of whom I'm interested in, but not butterfly-in-my-stomach interested, yet. One guy is not handsome per say, but he's really sweet, and I think he's kind of shy, and seems like the kind of person who I'd like to get--
*facepalm* Just stop right now.
Right, anyway. He smiled at me at lunch today. ^^

Another guy, though. I overheard him during a class a month or so ago and was intrigued by what he was saying. Like, practically supervillain-inclined.
*gigglesnort*
Obviously not that level. :P But I was interested in that, and I've started to notice him more, in classes in which I didn't know I had him because I didn't know him, and that kind of thing. And once we had to do a short, in-class project and he asked me if I wanted to be his partner. I said yes, but we weren't flirting or anything. It was kind of cool, with amino acids and we saw my DNA--
*coughs discreetly* Anyway...
But that's pretty much the boy sitch. Except for--
*rolls eyes*
Yeah, anyway. Sorry. Oh, and I had a dream that the second boy kissed me. On the cheek, but I was happy in my dream.
Of course, that was the night after I dreamed I was making out with Edward of Twilight.
Erm. He just looked like Edward. And we were flirting, not making out.
...

Okay, totally different subject. Online fanfiction awards, how about? The Kim Possible fandom at fanfiction dot net has annual awards-- this is only the fourth-- that I just missed when I signed up. I had five or six nominations, which for a beginning writer is quite a lot! But because the finalists are measured by the bulk of each nomination, I got knocked out right away. I was disappointed because I wanted to have a Fannie to my name--
Oh, please. Don't make me spout out one of those terrible puns.
--But my new story was nominated for the best work in progress at the Horrible awards, so I'm still hoping for that, though the KP one was my best bet.

And please pay no attention to the italics. I'm not going crazy--
As if you aren't already. As if everyone isn't.
--clinically. I'm just... typing to myself? Sarcastically? And why am I referring to myself as a separate entity?
Me I me me myself me... Happy?
Better... I guess... My point is that I'm just acting weird. And maybe putting off doing the dishes. I dunno. But I'm not making new personalities. I just...
Want to be sarcastic at yourself without being self-detrimental?
Ooh, big word. We must be feeling smug tonight.
Gah, just-- just go blog, okay?
You know, maybe I'll stop. This thing seems to be having a bad effect on my mental health.
Am I actually going to post this?
Why not?
...No reason.
Good. I'll just push the "PUBLISH POST" button.
Go ahead.
Maybe I will.
Your loss.
What do you--

Creative Pursuits with GarageBand!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt7Dy8R0T6E

...Lyrics © me, though.

And yes, that is my voice. Payment enclosed.'/>
WHAT TIME IS IT!?!

That's right, SELF-RIGHTEOUS RANTING TIME!!!

(Whee!)

Today, we have a message directed to the teen girl's magazine teenVOGUE. In reply to their business letter, I wrote:

teenVOGUE:

I recently received your offer for "FREE! A year of TEEN VOGUE plus a FREE GIFT!" I must say that it certainly surprised me to start to read the check-boxes (on card TVFM8A) proclaiming "Send me my FREE Tote Bag now. Payment enclosed. Make check payable to TEEN VOGUE." Confused, I looked up the word "free" in the dictionary, thinking that perhaps my vocabulary was in error. Yet, to my dismay, the applicable definition (since I assume that you meant "free" in some manner other than personal liberty or a [lack of] obstruction to use) was "provided without, or not subject to, a charge or payment." I implore you to research this yourself and correct your mailings accordingly, as it reflects negatively upon a company to misuse words in its (presumably) native language.

One of the enclosed fliers (labeled TVBMBA) reiterating your point stated, "It's got the clothes you love. In the styles you wear. At the prices you can afford. Plus beauty secrets that give you the look you want." Ignoring the last two incomplete "sentences," this compels me to ponder where you got your information. No sources were listed, which worried me. How did you find out my personal taste? What gives you such certainty that I wear the styles you list? And how in the world did you research my current monetary state!?! If you have been committing illegal activities to reach these ends, I petition you to stop immediately. Your disturbingly complete knowledge does not intimidate me enough to keep me from contacting the authorities if the situation should become dire.

As for your sheet TVLM8A, ignoring the similar questions to the above that it raises, I am even more perplexed. How will your paper magazine introduce me to models? What is my "fashion dream job"? And who are Kirsten Dunst and Rihanna?

However, I would be pleased to take your survey if it did not entail giving you money for what may be a flawed and/or illegally advertised product. Please, either discontinue sending me these mailings or simply give me the survey without the bells and whistles; I would be happy to give you my opinion.

Thank you for your time,

[my real name]

Good-bye, turtles

It finally happened. *sigh*

Those of you who know me in Reality know that I used to have two box turtles- Tammy and Caleb- that I got when I was eight. I used to- to really be excited about them. Loved 'em. Was obsessed with turtles! ;) But... lately I haven't been taking care of them like I should. After being hounded about it for a long time, I decided to sell them. It's been a while since then. Someone finally accepted the offer, with online "ad" help from my mom :P, and took them not 15 minutes ago, to give to their eight-year-old son for Christmas.

I know it's better for them... but it's hard letting them go, even if I hardly see them anymore.

*sighs again, deeply and slowly*

The parent of the new owner took my email address, and said she'd tell me when they get the turtles set up.

Gah. Certainly not what I had hoped for. It gave an origin story for Moist, true; but not with that comical yet tragic touch the original blog (indeed, even the Captain Hammer comic) had. I'm not wild about the visuals- better than I could draw, but somehow the characters just weren't... themselves- some bad language (those of you who know me can probably tell that the Lord's name in vain in the first panel is a turnoff), they "realistic-ed" the fun, cartoon-physics punch from the Captain Hammer comic, and the characters were... kind of out of character. Moist didn't have that pathetic, lopsided, but somehow comical expression, if you know what I'm talking about; Hammer kept his lines from the first comic, but I'd expect him to soak it up... be a big ham in the background, for the press, at least. And Horrible talking about taking Hammer down at the end? He looked like... dare I say it... Hammer himself, in his stereotypically heroic pose. Somehow I hoped for... bonding? Lovable "wimpiness" in a way? A little more Horrible-esque self-battering and/or humor? He was taking himself so seriously... and not the way Dr. Horrible usually did. More like some kind of buff he-man. And, surprisingly, they did not play it for jokes. You can be funny and dead serious at the same time, as Joss Whedon proved in the web original.

The good thing about it? At least now we know that Moist is a) Horrible's henchman, officially, and b) runny, not sweaty. Although the conjecture about that last one was part of the fun...

That all said, I am grateful to Zack Whedon and Farel Dalrymple, if the credits are correct, for providing the fans with some more Dr. Horrible material and a few questions answered- plus even more Horrible press. It did not appeal to me; but I'd bet you money that someone out there is going to love this. Therefore, it was probably worthwhile. And I thank them.

A Discourse on Villainy

I originally posted this on Yahoo! Answers:

"A villain is traditionally the antagonist (main character's main enemy), although some have done wonders with, as you have said, a protagonist (main character) "villain"- that is, a villainous lifestyle as a career, most often in the comic book-superhero sense. By this I mean that the villain lives in a world chock-full of do-gooders in tights and underwear that may or may not have "superpowers" and who traipse around foiling these so-called villains' evil schemes, which usually involve world domination, revenge, murder, money, attention-bringing misdemeanors, and the like. The villains sometimes wear the bright capes-and-underwear themselves, and sometimes have superpowers (which is one of the most-used definitions of "supervillain") and almost always have some sort of doomsday machine or what-have-you used to accomplish their goals, especially if said villain is a Mad Scientist. They may or may not carry menacing death/stun/freeze/etc. rays to ward off heroes and heroines, which they usually regard as enemies. They sometimes have archnemesis-es or archenemies, who are usually "heroes" as well. They usually have an interesting backstory, which, if used to the extreme, can degrade the villain to merely "misunderstood". Some "villains" become such because, for one reason or another, society has dubbed them this and they eventually, willingly or unwillingly, begin to act out their part.

"Other types of villains can be much less extreme, and can range from a grumpy neighbor to a sadistic boss at work. These types of villains are the types the protagonist might encounter day-to-day, and mostly act legally (unless the protagonist or his/her allies are policemen, detectives, or other law-enforcers). The protagonist usually has to battle them, whether literally or figuratively.

"If you want to create a villain, give him/her an identity. Add quirks (from strange costumes and villain names to a dislike for cumin), weaknesses if need be (afraid of mice? That could be useful if the protagonist has access to a pet rodent), goals and aspirations (take over the world or become head cheerleader?), motivations (why are they doing what they're doing?), and, perhaps most importantly, the reason why the audience/hero should dislike or be pitted against them. Is the villain working for a big corporation that cuts down the rainforests and your hero is a faithful, picketing ecologist? Or does your hero want the position the sadistic villain holds? I'm back from Twilight, and it was awesome! All the teenage girls squealed when Edward and when Carlisle came onto the screen. ;) Bella and Jacob were too serious for my liking, but the action scenes were great (spoiler: seriously, Edward would NOT STOP sucking Bella's arm XD). Some humor, not enough time to fall in love in my opinion, but very excellent. It was fun to be into something everyone else was, for a change! I met this girl there- Team Edward- and we began discussing the books. It was a lot of fun. We stopped for Culvers' root beer floats afterward, and had a good time. I loved it. The movie was not perfect, but it was certainly fun. And the Twilight readers laughed at certain parts no one else seemed to get- it was fun, too, to laugh along.

Yummy

A coupon for a 99-cent ice cream cone at Coldstone Creamery (for those of you who don't know, it is THE best place to get frozen sweets- and with many exotic flavors/mixes, like cookie and cake dough, gingerbread, pumpkin pie... unfortunately, very expensive) and I got a frozen yogurt (yes, like Penny. ^.^) It was delicious- very sweet and tangy. I'll make these updates short but sweet.

Went out to a Japanese fast-food restaurant with my mom yesterday; had a great time. Almost done reading Eclipse. Had a free 3-mint coffee drink at Borders today and free ice cream tonight- sweets city. Wore my cape to Culver's. Got a few amused looks and my mom to say that she thought the waiter liked me. Many "Freddy" updates, but this is my blog, not his. I'll keep quiet for now. Got a free Twilight poster in USA Today. Rewatched Dr. Horrible again. Want to explain the name of my blog but once again procrastinate. Didn't have to do the dishes last night because we ate out twice- an abnormality; I skipped around the house shouting for joy. Forgot where St. Louis was. Read the webcomic "anti-HEROES". More work abounds. It went on for a while.

Later, we were discussing the Golden Rule, and he cited it as "Do unto others as they would do unto you." Saw the show for the first time on TV today, heard it while getting my hair cut, the puppets at the aforementioned church "party" lip-synced it...

:P

Yesterday my computer ate my new Doc Horrible angsty oneshot. An excerpt from my RS Net post on that day:

Emailed both the Obama and McCain websites. Unfortunately, I accidentally gave them the wrong email address. Oops...

Anyhoo, here's most of what I wrote (the Obama version) in a flurry of self-importance:

"...I question the campaign. Most politics like your own, actually. I understand (to an extent) power lust, and have a few questions. Why do you (or "does Obama", depending on who is reading this) want to be president? Is it for glory? Power? Fame? Monetary gain? Surely presidency does not assure these, as George W. Bush has now only, what is the number, a 17% approval rating? Circumstance can make you or break you, as evidenced by his time in office, and the stakes are high. Are you driven by an honest wish to better America, despite the political stereotype of fraud and manipulation? Could you not do more by heading a charity or movement?

"If you simply wish to take over the country, then, does brainwashing still work as well as it has in the past? I know that many will accept others' opinions as their own, if persuaded correctly. Hitler did it; why couldn't you? Especially with the added tools of advertising and television broadcasts!

"Or perhaps you have just a desire for personal gain, as is human nature. Perfectly understandable. Many supervillains have this as their only incentive.

"Make no mistake; I am not an undercover Republican seeking to undermine your goals through exaggeration or insults, if you consider the above offensive. I did not mean it so. I intend to send the same note to your adversary, if possible. For, in politics, where is there truth? Where is there unadulterated honesty and goodwill with not even a touch of greed or selfishness? I realize that for this email to reach Barack Obama himself, it must go through miles of red tape and many, many people in Senator Obama's campaign. It will, in all likelihood, never be read by him at all.

"It is just as well. How many insults, how many mindless pledges of allegiance will come through this website in the future? How many have, already? Assuredly, hundreds of thousands, even millions. Each as meaningless and not thought out as the next, products of advertising, re-education, and deceit. I say this because of the many promises made in any campaign, not as a personal attack. For we Americans rarely think things out, believing what we are told without question, or questioning the things that are purely truth. But is this a characteristic of Americans alone? Nay, of human nature.

"So, to whoever shall read this, whether it be a minimum-wage (or even volunteering) secretary, or the potential next president of the United States of America himself, my message is this: think. Why are you doing what you are doing? If you honestly believe in it, and know why you believe it, by all means, continue. But if you are a following sheep, be aware that you may in actuality be a lemming. If so, continue as well, if you wish. Make it easier for those who think for you.

"Resistance may be futile. Think at your own risk."

Same old, same old.

Bit tiring day today, so I consumed a hot chocolate and 10 squares of dark chocolate (admittedly, small squares) and felt a little better. He's almost made audio communication while working on his freeze ray (his goal? To stop time to find the words to tell the girl how he feels) when, in the direct aftermath of his crime, he inadvertently introduces his dream girl to his archenemy, Captain Hammer, who is the biggest, most egotistical jerk you'll ever meet but who is hailed by all as a hero. [Many] very funny parts, some heart-wrenching parts, few bad words, and a bit of sexual references for humor's sake, but a wonderful movie. Also a musical, hence the sing-along part.

One of the best movies I have ever watched. I highly recommend it- but not for young children. Not too much bad stuff in there (certainly not enough for an R rating!!!) but two or three references might make you want to cover the little ones' ears. Those parts I didn't like. I pass him in the hall and he glares at me. I was convinced that he hates me- my "advisers" say he's crushing. ?

Our first meeting was in class, where I sat down at an empty two-seat table. A random person came and sat next to me. Soon, Freddy came by and told me the seat was his. I thought him rude and crisply replied, "Well, I didn't know we had assigned seats," and moved. Soon after, a seating chart was instilled and Freddy was moved... across the aisle from me. We are now literally about 4 feet apart every class.

Freddy often snaps at me for doing regular things. "Stop doodling!" "Stop staring at me!" (when I wasn't) "I wasn't talking to you!!!" "Stop it!"

However (and this is where it gets complicated), he was talking with some friends of his, girls, (now known as Prez and Kin) when Prez, who likes to involve everybody, initiated me into the conversation. Soon, though, out of nowhere, one of them said, "'Freddy' likes you!"

Immediately Freddy started banging his head on the table and groaning as I gave Prez and Kin a level look. "Uh- HUH."

They continued to press their point and insisted that I should ask Freddy to the Sadie Hawkin's dance while Freddy moaned in agony. I gave a noncommittal and slightly creeped-out answer and turned away. I heard Freddy comment to Prez and Kin, "I wouldn't go with her anyway."

Today I was doing a diagram in my notes when Freddy ejaculated, "Stop it!"

I looked up. "Stop what?"

"Drawing!"

I looked down at the diagram and held it up. "I wasn't drawing, I was doing a diagram for Biology. See?"

Freddy, if memory holds, huffed and I went back to my work, undeterred.

Freddy's not too bad on the eyes, if you know what I mean, but I dislike him despite it. He jokes around with Prez and Kin and his other friends but seems dead serious with me.

I can't figure out if/why he hates me or if he has a killer poker face.

According to my "advisers", as stated before, "Freddy" is crushing on me and I should joke around with him instead of "hurting his feelings". It seems to me that he doesn't care much about what I think. :P

Any sensical comments?

Introduction

Okedokey. Here be my blog. Yes, yes, I know. *waves off applause* I suppose I must describe my interests, yes? *clears throat*

I'm a Christian, a vegetarian, and I fancy myself as an author. My favorite poems are "The Rainy Day" and "The Raven". I'm a big fan of Astro Boy, the movie Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog, the Simpsons, Jane and the Dragon, Wordgirl, American Dragon: Jake Long, and Kim Possible. If you can't tell (although I hope it's obvious), my name is a vegetarian play on Bart Simpson's famous catchphrase "Don't have a cow, man!"

As a hobby, I write Kim Possible fanfiction. http://www.fanfiction.net/~donteatacowman

I am also a member of the RonStoppable.net forums and Youtube, under the same name as here and on FF Net.

Some of my hobbies include checking out the above websites, writing, perfecting my evil laugh and world domination plots, reading, and the evil to trump evil: homework. *An unearthly scream is heard in the distance*

Sooooo....

Do you ever wonder if you're under mind control, and are only persuaded that you posses free will? I asked my female friend (Heretofore known as "Al"), and she gave me an odd look and replied in the negative. Oy vey.

Anyhoo, I guess I'm signing off for now. May post again, may be abducted by heat-seeking aliens- who knows what the future holds?
