News Flash! Self-Ego-Swelling Ahoy!

...That is neither news nor a flash! Well, sort of.

Just wanted to write that Going Against the Grain, my Horrible and Tie Die fanfiction, is now spanning 22 1/2 pages on Microsoft Word and, if its measurements are correct, is 11,761 words long. Since it's not going to be done for a while, I would bet money that it'll be longer than my longest fic (or story, for that matter), which was 12, 457 words long-- plus the text of 12 disclaimers and some author's notes.

My first "official," original story, three years ago, was under 2000 words long. My first chaptered fanfic, last year, was almost 9000 words long. Someday I hope to be able to write a novel or something-- they're, what, 100,000 or more words?-- so I'm glad to see that I'm building up to that and improving. :D Of course I'm not making the quality suffer, either.

Short post--

--Because I was supposed to be going to bed 20 minutes ago. And I need it.

Two guy updates: "Freddy" stopped to tease me in the hall. Not meanly, just messing around and being a guy.

Sweet guy talked to me for a minute (that's all we had) in the hallway. Asked each other's grade (that is, class level, like 9th or 10th or whatever) and found out we were the same, just we have no classes together. Smiled and said I hoped to see him soon.

Good day today, mostly, because it started well. Going full-swing after missing a week so I'm playing catch-up, plus I'll be at school from 7:40 AM-8:15 PM tomorrow, working the whole time, so :P.

Sorry about my mood swings lately, just my time of the month. Maybe I shouldn't have done the Chick rant. Just felt sarcastic and I let off some steam in the comic's direction. Maybe I should delete it....

Hoping to hide a valentine in the sweet guy's locker on Friday. Nothing over-the-top, just a hi-happy-Valentine's-Day thing. :)

Had play practice from 6:30-8:30 tonight and 4 hours tomorrow, which is why I'll be staying late and probably why I'm so tired. Today I only had one line, too. :P

But the weather's so much nicer! It made me remember life's worth living! :D Ice is melting, going outside without a coat, and wonderful smells. Probably won't last long but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Started a forum for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog over at fanfiction dot net. Once I posted it to LJ several people started coming. Nice to talk with a lot of fans!

It could be that I'm PMS-ing, but...

I like answering questions on there. It's really fun. But lately, well...

For example, I answered a question that said "In college or older and still can't spell a lot correctly? [the title] I just can't get over the fact that most people still spell a lot incorrectly. I learned in probably first or second grade how to spell it and never forgot. I mean there are professors that still spell it ALOT and I just want to scream at them and say it is two words not one. How hard is it really? Even newspapers spell it wrong sometimes. I guess it is just a pet peeve of mine. I can't handle it. I get so mad because it is not that difficult."

I read this as the phrase "a lot" rather than meaning "people cannot spell many things correctly." Apparently, the person meant the latter and awarded me the best answer because, in their own words, "you can't read. I miss spelled it on purpose. If you had read it you would see that I was making a point."

Of course, they now have also misspelled "misspelled," but I didn't point that out. :P

On another question, "What are you? describe yourself . plz descibe ur self !!!" I replied jokingly, "I am a person with a crippling phobia of revealing personal information online.

Oh my goodness! *calls her phobia hotline* GAHHH!"

I added a clarification that no, I was not actually phobic, because there are many that would take me seriously. *rolls eyes* I wasn't expecting to get the Best Answer, but I did, with a rating of only one star and the comment "it funni nd your pic iz even funnier den the whole entire joke," which, translated, I took to mean "That's funny, and your picture is even funnier than the entire joke." I think it looks like me and is actually flattering.

I know I shouldn't care about rude strangers' opinions of me, but...

A Discourse on Jack Chick's "Papa"

Who was making this tract, the Cardinals? Look at the Pope's eyes. LOOOOOK! How are they "lovely" and "old"? Half the people are infants! Aside from that, I actually do agree about not baptizing children. :| If only they'd present their message in a way that I can't make fun of. "Bondage": "For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification." (Romans 6:19b, English Standard Version of the Bible) And his priest claims to be equal to God? I don't know what Bible they're reading, but that's blasphemy, which would win me over to Chick's point if I knew that any Catholics believed that. Feel free to correct me, please! Wait, what? He claims to be "inferior to God"? What about the last panel in which he claimed to be equal to Jesus? ...And if the guy on the cloud isn't Jesus, who do they think he is? Just look at the guy running into the cracker and tell me you wouldn't look like Anthony does not if you had to eat it. On a more serious note, I also do not believe in transubstantiation, or the idea that the wafer literally becomes Jesus' flesh. However, communion, or the breaking of bread among believers in remembrance of Christ's death, is outlined in the Bible: "Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, 'Take, eat; this is my body.' And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, 'Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.'" (Matthew 26:26-29, English Standard Version) I guess the main difference is that we take it figuratively while Catholics take it literally. :| Why are all the priests always so grumpy and evil-looking? Pardon me for my ignorance, but what about "That fire will be more grievous than anything a man is capable of bearing in this life" implies that the speaker will be going there? Some context would be nice. ...Jesus will destroy the Vatican? Is that in the Bible? I pray that nobody was so influenced by my snarking to disbelieve Christ. I kind of wanted to reaffirm my own beliefs here. If you're interested, please contact a pastor in your area, or me! ...Try Bible.com for a free online Bible. Now I shall take the time to state my own beliefs about Catholics
from what I know. Feel free to disagree, and maybe even talk
about it with me.

I think some Catholics are people relying on good works to get to
Heaven, as Chick claims. However, some so-called "Christians"
are the same; they are not truly Christians if they just pretend to
be. And I also believe that some Catholics are Christians with some
practices with which I do not agree, and I'm sure people have
debated over that a lot. I don't have any Catholics here, though,
so I guess the point of this was not to start a debate but to inflict
my mood swings on Chick.

Sorry, Jack Chick. Sorry, any offended. And thank you for reading.
