Man, you can tell the sign of a dying blog by how many posts start out "Wow, I haven't updated much lately..." but it's been 5 years, so I think what I say here isn't going to matter either way.

Just... geez. I forgot all about this thing until I saw a link to it on my Livejournal, which I only use rarely. It's kinda weird but cool being able to read about my thoughts from '09 and earlier, since I don't really remember a lot from then. Also kind of surreal.

I'd say I'm posting an update for your benefit, dear reader, but I don't think you exist aside from possibly a Future Me, maybe 5 years from now. Haha. Might as well post the highlights reel of the last 5 years, or at least of where I am right now.

Let's see, for one thing, I'm pretty gay. Also pretty nonChristian. (Call myself agnostic but lean atheist.) So yeah, really weird to see my posts from just a year or so before I started questioning all that. Religion, anyway; I didn't have a clue about my orientation until I was 17, and I'm 21 now. Hah... geez, this blog is super old.

Uhh, I've got some tattoos that I didn't have the last time I wrote this. Loved and lost and all that in the meantime. I'm about to graduate university with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology, and my current pipe dream is to go teach English in Japan, though that's such a distant hope that I haven't trained for, it seems silly to plan for it like I am. I've been living in Florida for the last three and a half years, though, and that seemed distant and impossible when I'd only lived in Illinois, I guess...

Oh, and I've been the proud owner of a lovely cat named Bastet for the last two years.

Most of my writing isn't fanfiction or original, sadly--it's roleplay writing online, which is probably even worse in terms of practicality or nerdiness. But I've had /that/ blog for three or four years altogether and wow that's weird to think about.

Beautiful Creatures

What's that? Another entry on this long-dead blog? YES I AM UPDATING

...FOR MY OWN SELFISH PURPOSES

Tthere's a contest to win a signed copy of this book I recently read, Beautiful Creatures. It's pretty good, a supernatural romance for my demographic, but still intelligent. It's Twilight without the hormones. :D As in, the plot takes precedence over the romance in the book. It's a good read and pretty interesting, and it has a rich setting and colorful characters.

Anyway, the contest is here and I get an extra entry if I plug it here on my blog! :D

Soooo, go check it out!

(although don't really because then I have more of a chance of winning yay)

Hey again

Ooooh.

Not been very good about posting, have I?

Yeah. Well, it's 12:15 now, so.... maybe tomorrow, if I remember to. :(

Ahaha

Hahaha, what a lame blog: one sometimes-commenting reader with who I now connect elsewhere, and my last post being over a month old. Wowwww. *winces* I'm really sorry about that. I post most of my stuff at Donteatacowman.Livejournal.com now, I guess mostly because I'm encouraged in that other people actually READ it. But I guess this makes this more of a private journal I write in when I don't want other people to know but I want to get things out there. I'll try to write more later, maybe...

Updates

I guess I haven't been posting here much lately. Rambling time!:

As of right now, it's 11:07 PM on a Friday night and I'm a bit tired though not as much as I could be.

Online friends-wise (mostly for my own reference, I guess, unless you are/know one of the people on here), Tenkan's not been visiting RS Net much lately. For the past two weeks or so, though, we've been corresponding via Youtube messages, so we're still in touch. Over at LiveJournal, I've made several good friends, like SMBShaneomaniac and Jamie55 and more, so that's mostly where I've been updating on my life, since Cassandra's on Twitter. I haven't been to RS Net a lot. Twila and I don't talk much... Jim and I do private message each other there though.

Real-life-events-wise, my wrist's been inexplicably hurting the past week-ish. Hoping that'll end soon; it's in a Walmart-bought brace right now. I'm on this wheat-free-diet for a long and complicated reason I don't completely understand, but I've been allowed to cheat once every two weeks or more often, so I guess that's okay--I have a certain kind of bread I can have, so I still have daily sandwiches. School's only got six more full days (next Monday, the 25th or so, we have off for Memorial Day, I think), plus three half-days of finals. I had to run a mile in PE today, which I really didn't like. What else? Oh, yes, I'm going to Florida for two weeks next month! :D I have a really good friend who lives down there and who flies up to visit once a year, and this time I'm repaying the favor. Cheap plane tickets for the win! I can't wait to see her, and it sounds like there's a lot of fun ocean- and Disney-related stuff down there!

I just finished writing Going Against the Grain this week and I'm going to post the last chapter around Monday, maybe sometime this weekend. I'm excited! But I don't know what to write next... It really only works when the inspiration strikes. It's somewhere around 24,300 words (including disclaimers and author's notes), which is by far the longest story I've ever written. In fact, it's almost twice as long as I Think Some Serious Physics Just Happened. I'm hopefully improving! ^^

Oh, also, I've been watching How I Met Your Mother on TV after seeing almost the entire archive of episodes during spring break. So yeah. Neil Patrick Harris is officially my favorite actor?

As for my relationship with God, it's been less steady lately. I really need to spend more time reading the Bible. :-[

I guess that's mainly it, for the most part. (There went almost 20 minutes of my time! Who knew?)

So, woo!

Dr. Who/Horrible

So my friend, Tenkan, has been trying to get me to watch Dr. Who for a little while now. It was on last night, and my mom (who was watching with me) is a fan, so I watched it. After some research online I conducted today, I found the episode was called "Love and Monsters." The ending was pretty creepy, yeah. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

But the thing is... the main character of that episode (not one of the recurring characters like the Doctor or Rose or something, I guess), Elton, looked remarkably like Billy, of Dr. Horrible fame.

I kid you not.

So, for more of my reference than for any readers' (yeah, plural... I'm hoping), I'm going to post some picture links cross-examining them:

Spoilers if you care about them:
So, video blog for Elton and Billy.
By the time Elton got to the laundromat, I was pretty much squeeing at the coincidence.
Not to mention when he got his girlfriend, you know, dead in the second-to-last set. SAME LOOK on his face. (Fortunately he got her back... in a really creepy way. But I suppose that's normal for Dr. Who?)

<3 Billy lookalike

(Also--fairly obviously, I didn't make the screencaps. Just to get that out there)
